Out of 225 in Rajapaksa government 192 had not passed GCE Advanced Level

Minister of power and energy Patali Champika Ranawaka had said the out of the two hundred
and twenty five (225) Members of the Parliament in the Mahinda Rajapasa government one hundred and ninety two (192) had not passed the GCE (Advanced Level) examination.

Out of those not had GCE (Advanced Level) 92 members had not passed the GCE (Ordinary Level) examination. This he had disclosed at a ceremony held at the Lanka Foundation Institute addressing a gathering.

He emphasised that owing to the Members and Ministers of the parliament are even without these basic qualifications the knowledgeable officers in the ministries fall into embarrassments and even tempted to become corrupt.
