IT IS NOT TRUE THAT I LEFT THE COUNTRY – GOVERNOR – CENTRAL BANK

The former Minister Bandula Gunawardena had quipped that the governor

of Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Arjun Mahendran had left the country. But he had attended to a media conference yesterday the 3rd instant at the Central Bank head quarters.

When a journalist questioned about the news that he left the country, he has stated that he went to Japan on an official trip with the minister of finance.  Further he has stated that he refuses all complaints and allegations fired against him regarding the irregular manner of issuance of treasury bonds.
