Dilshan 10,000 while Kusal reach 1,000 runs milestones

In the fifth and final One Day International between the touring Pakistan and the Sri Lanka

teams played as a day and night encounter tody the 26th instant at the Suriyawewa Mahinda Rajapkasa International cricket stadium, Sri Lankan opener Tilekaratne Dilshan was able to achieve the milestone of 10,000 runs in One Day International cricket. This ODI was his 316th appearance and his milestone was achieved during the course of his inning. He has to date scored22 centuries and 44 fifties.

Tilekaratne Dilshan thus became the 11th batmen to achieve this feat for Sri Lanka and the 4th Sri Lanka batsman. He is now behind Kumara Sangakkara,Mahela Jayewardena and Sanath Jayasuriya as our batsmen who had scored over 10,000 runs in one day cricket.

While partnering Tillekeratne Dilshan , the other left handed  dashing opener Kusal Janith Perera in today’s one day encounter reached the 1000 run milestone. Kusal Janith Perera achieved this feat in his 48th One Day International, during the course of this second century inning. Previously he had made only one century and five fifties and had averaged only 23.33 per inning before this match winning century knock.
