Noodles in Sri Lanka with less lead content than in other countries
The officials of the health ministry had conducted laboratory
experiments to find the lead composition in the all varieties of noodles manufactured in Sri Lanka.It has been revealed via investigations that the contents of lead in the varieties of noodles are much lower than the percentages found in the noodles manufactured in other countries.
The contents of lead in the samples of noodles were examined by a special panel with the assistance from the consumer protection authority and the Sri Lanka standards institution.
The panel had taken into consideration many factors like the raw materials that are used, the production process to find out the lead and other contents.
It is learnt that all types of instant noodles in Sri Lanka are manufactured in this country and not imported from any other country. It is reported that as a chemical only mono sodium glutamate is used in the manufacturing process. All other raw materials are produced in Sri Lanka.
It had been revealed finally that all types of noodles, instant or otherwise are suitable for consumption and do not contain any poisonous substance.
