Parliamentary member Vasudeva Nanayakkara who attended a
public rally in Ratnapura some days back has subjected President Maithripala Sirisena to serious humility.

MP Vasudeva though affiliated to the Alliance coming from the Sama Samaja Party is not a member of the SLFP and had on this occasion forces Maithripala Sirisena to give up the position of Chairman of the SLFP by using the words such as, "Atharapan .... umba bambu gahanawada?" His statement is as follows:

                                                                                              "Now if he says that it's not what is wanted ... what does Mr. Maithripala Sirisena want? The moment Ranil is made the Prime Minister ... the UNP will become a Sri Lanka Government where he is the President. Give up the post of Chairman you fellow .. give up the post of Chairman .... if what is wanted is a coalition with the UNP .... to make Ranil the Premier .... 'umba bambu gahanawada' with you being in the position of Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party?"
