Food poisoning at Cinnamon Grand hotel sends 08 to hospital
It has been reported that at a dinner ceremony held yesterday the
12th instant at the Colombo Cinnamon Grand hotel Oak Room; owing to food poisoning 08 guests had been admitted to hospital.
The dinner had been hosted by the members of the United Kingdom society in Sri Lanka to celebrate Queen’s birthday. The invitees it is learnt had been all in the capacity of VIP’s.
The Daily Mirror newspaper had reported that the cause of the food poisoning had been owing to consumption of a ‘mushroom’ curry brought in to the hotel from outside source.
It is also reported that after consumption of the ‘mushroom’ curry eight guests had started vomiting having showed signs of food poisoning. They had been taken to two private hospitals for treatment. After treatment a few of them had already been discharged from hospital is reported.
