The dead body of a person was recovered early this morning (3) inside the Swimming Pool of
Thurstan College.

It was assumed that the said person had come to the swimming pool last night and when the body was found he was found already dead. It was earlier suspected that he was a person around the age of 50 years and on the investigation carried out by Kurunduwatta Police it came to be known that he was an Old Boy of the same school. His householders at Raja Maha Vihara Road, Nawinna have been informed that his body had been found and whether he had died at the college or whether he had died elsewhere and later his body was dumped here after that is still a mystery.

The police are vigilant as to whether the persons in charge of the swimming pool were negligent about what was taking place there in the night and it is reported that at that particular moment those attached to the relevant section of the school had not being aware of this which then had occured due to their negligence. The corpse in fact had been found a short while before activities of the school had started. Police are conducting further inquiry into the matter.
