The former Minister and Leader of the National Freedom Alliance Wimal Weerawansa giving an

interview to a weekend newspaper had commented why those were named as the culprits before the election are not yet arrested.

Question: You had made a public challenge to the government to arrest the wanted culprits. Now they are escaping gradually?

Answer:Before the presidential election was told that many in the likes of Karuna Amman,Kumaran Pathmanathan,Duminda Silva and Mervin Silva would be arrested.Duminda Silva was to be arrested for Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra murder while Mervin Silva for spreading gossip to harm the candidates. But all of them have escaped and now they are hunting for alternate persons.

Question: Do you think that they should be arrested?

Answer: No No what I say is these are done to achieve targets.
