Ravi to sue Mahinda for Rs200 billion for defamatory statement

The Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake

intends to file a defamatory case against former president Mahinda Rajapaksa for exposing a blatant lie that the Minister had used influence and involved in obtaining credit facilities from the Lankaputhra Bank.

This statement the former president had uttered recently.The Minister intends to file a defamatory case against the former president claiming a sum of rupees 200 billion. He also had stated that he would disclose this matter to the parliament in order to make the house aware of this matter.
