I had a big fish tank with sharks ....

to get over my mental stress!

Sometime back various media opinions were

expressed over Gotabhaya Rajapaksa's  fish tank. He had admitted it as the truth by revealing so at an interview given to Daily FT newspaper this time. The interview is as follows:

Isn't there an allegation about you that you had reared fish as big as sharks? 

In most houses fish are reared as pets. What is the difference a tank that has pet-fish and a tank that has shark? Aren't birds reared in houses? Why is a finger pointed at us only for things like this?

Is the salary you received as a government servant sufficient to rear exceptionally rare birds and sharks?

No exceptional birds are in my possession. Can't a government servant have a fish-tank? (smiles). During that era the only tranquility was that. Give me a chance to tell how all this happened.

One day a certain person said something like this. "Sir .... you spend most of the time either at home or in office .... other than that you don't go out. Keeping a fish-tank at home is a fine way of calming down your thoughts. Through that method you can minimise your stress". 

It is a  very large fish-tank. From the time it was brought to my house its maintenance-work was done by that person. He had given fish-tanks to a number of people.

When taking into account the peace , stability and development .... these are negligible.

Having fish-tanks rearing sharks in a personal way in a house in the case of the affluent in foreign countries is for the reason for their mental satisfaction or entertainment.
