Body of 15 year old Rathgama student who jumped into river .... recovered Suicide because of love involvement?
The dead body of a student of Rathgama Devapathiraja Maha Vidyalaya who was reported missing from home last Monday (25) was recovered today at the opening part of Ginthota Bridge.
After he was missing, his school-bag was found on top of a post on the train bridge close to Gintota
River. A letter was also found inside the bag on which the words 'amme thaaththe .... forgive me!' was written.Though Rathgama Police began investigations assuming that he had jumped into the river, they were not successful in locating his body even after 3 days. Divers and police dogs were used in search operations for the student but their attempt proved futile and therefore the police gave up their activities in this connection. However, Galle Police announced that the dead body of student Imesh Shrimal who had disappeared was recovered today (29) towards the opening of the Gintota River.
Shrimal from Rupiwala, Boossa studying in Grade 11 of Rathgama Devapathiraja Vidyalaya had returned from school last 25th and had gone for an extra class in the evening; but as he had not returned home thereafter his parents had lodged a complaint with Rathgama Police. It was after that his school-bag was found when hanging on a post on Gintota Train Bridge. Police investigations are being conducted to check whether he had written 'amme thaaththe .... forgive me' because he had been disappointed over some broken love affair. Police are of the opinion that he had jumped into the river and thus put an end to his life. The post-mortem of the deceased student is to be conducted today (29).
