Tissa Karaliyedda resigns from post of Deputy Minister

When a group of Members of Parliament were offered ministerial portfolios former Minister

Tissa Karaliyadda was offered the post of deputy minister of Buddha Sasana and Parliamentary affairs.

However before taking over the duties he had resigned from the deputy ministerial portfolio. In this connection he had handed over letters to the President Maithripala Sirisena and the secretary general of parliament.

It was only the other day former President Mahinda Rajapaksa had quipped that only those without a spine crossed over and accepted minister posts.
