Speaker to brief Members of Parliament on how to proceed to Bribery and Corruption unit in future.

The speaker Chamal Rajapaksa is to deliver a

special statement to Members of the Parliament what procedure to be adopted when a Member of Parliament has to appear to give statements at the Bribery and Corruption unit.This statement is to be tabled in Parliament today by the Speaker.

This decision has been taken owing to the chaos situation that arose within the parliament yesterday when a huge protest was made by Members against the summoning of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa to the Bribery and Corruption unit.In this regard a responsible representative of the Bribery and Corruption unit had come and met the Speaker yesterday. However the Speaker had said that the former president is now on pension and he would not become a Member of Parliament again.
