Popular vocalist Haroon Lanthra passes away

Famous vocalist Haroon Lanthra who has contributed immensely to Sinhala music and Sinhala

films as a popular playback singer during the past several decades has expired today at the age of 83 years. He has sung several popular Sinhala songs like ‘sulang kurullow’ ,’mage namali’ and a number of other popular songs to films and Radio Ceylon.

Last year he had been deprived of his belongings when some thieves had come disguised as his fans and robbed him. He had been very worried over that matter. Other Singers had come to his rescue thereafter. His funeral arrangements would be notified later.
