When the Parliament commenced sittings today the UPFA Members of Parliament staged a protest by

sitting on the red carpet as former president Mahinda Rajapaksa has been summoned to the Bribery and corruption unit to record a statement.

When the majority of the Members of the opposition sat on the red carpet on the floor Member of Parliament for Galle district, Nishantha Muthuhettigama unable to follow suit had stood behind the protestors as he had a huge belly. He had been joined by a woman Member of Parliament sporting a sari who had stood by him. These events have been captured on camera and could be viewed.
