Sponsored perahera instead of partaking of food!

President cut-off when annointing oil on the head ... because of advertisement!

When broadcasting auspicious moments at Sinhala Avurudu moments this year, because of the complicated situation that arose as a result of trying to fulfill the necessities of the sponsors it ultimately ended up as a joke among lakhs of viewers of the National Rupavahini.

On the occasion when the moment of the auspicious moment dawned at 2.42 pm. on the 14th, the viewers had chosen to watch it in their house; when what they happened to see was a perahera instead. The team of patrons of a bank who came in a procession were shown for a short while attending to transactions while the moment of partaking of food was was to be seen at 2.58 across National Rupavahini. By that time the audience or viewers had already partaken of their food.

This morning, 15th, fell into somewhat of a complicated situation when the National Rupavahini was broadcasting the annointing of oil festival at a time President Maithripala and others including Minister Rajitha were getting ready for the ceremony of annointing oil and were in the presence of the thero concerned though a time period of about 23 seconds were left for the auspicious moment of 9.06  and then it once again resumed its live broadcast after switching over to a commercial advertisement at which time the moment of annointing oil on the President had already started. The camera was then focused on the moment when the President was about to leave after the annointing ceremony .

As a result of this, the National Rupavahini had to broadcast the occasion of the oil-annointing ceremony of the First Citizen at the State Ceremony  by cutting off this particular ceremony because of the sponsors.
