Hambanthota Mayor lifts hand cuffed hands

The Mayor of Hambanthota Eraj Kavindra Fernando has

been arrested by officials of the Colombo special investigation unit has been produced before the Hambanthota Magistrate Isuru Neththikumara .The Magistrate has ordered him to be remanded until today the 30th instant.

The allegation against him has been on the 27th March 2014 he had come to the Ambalanthota Police station had abducted a suspect arrested by them by threatening the Officer in charge of the police station. The Mayor had been arrested when he had returned to the Island on the night of the 28th instant from abroad by the Colombo special investigation unit.
