Basil to parliament from prison, birthday also today
The former Minister of Economic Development
Basil Rajapaksa who was arrested with two others for misappropriation of funds from ‘devineguma’ department was treated for a heart ailment at the Merchant’s ward in the general hospital.
He had however been granted permission from courts to attend parliamentary sittings. Today for the debate and voting for the 19th amendment to the constitution he has been brought to the parliament in a vehicle.
Today is incidentally his 61st birthday.
