Ven Sumangala Thera could travel overseas only with permission from courts.

When the case against the forr Member of Parliament, Ven Kolonnawe Sumangala thera against the possession of five wild baby Elephants without

obtaining the related permits from the wild life ministry was taken up at the Chief Magistrates courts Colombo on the 20th instant.The Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya advised the police that on the next date of hearing the Chief Incumbent of Devuran Viharaya Pannipitiya the Ven Kolonnawe Sumangala thera would be summoned for questioning.

Hence the Magistrate had advised to inforn the Venerable thera to obtain permission of the magistrates courts before leaving the country.
