Thieves have entered a house in Pannipitiya

had escaped with cash after having tied the couple who lived on to a chair

A complaint has been lodged by a businessman P.S.Premaratne living in Erauwala, Pannipitiya at
the Maharagama  police in regard to stealing cash and cheques to the tune of about rupees one million from their residence on the 22nd of  February night around 10.30 p.m. When the Businessman and his wife were asleep on that day when a woman had cried out ‘ Sunil’ from the rear of the house.The businessman’s wife had opened the kitchen  door, this woman had entered in to the house followed five armed men. The woman had asked for the gold ring ‘rajina’ from the lady which was not with her.The gang had tied the couple to a chair and started to clean up for valuables.

This gang had cleaned up the cabinets and had taken away cash and cheques to the value of nearly rupees one million and deeds of properties bank and other business documents. Sub Inspector of police P.Muditha attached to the Maharagama police had informed about the complaint made by the businessman to the Magistrate of Magistrates courts Nugegoda.The Maharagama police is searching for the suspects to conduct investigations on the theft.
