President orders to stall all police transfers

President Maithripala Sirisena has taken a decision to stop all police transfers that have

been already made.

The presidential media unit has announced that in future all police transfers will have to made with the consent of a three member committee appointed  exclusively for this purpose comprising of the Secretary to the president,secretary to the ministry of public law and order and the Inspector General of Police.
