Popular cricketing legends Mahela and Sanga duo bid 'adieu'to ODI cricket

Sri Lanka's talented and popular batting duo Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara

today (19th) played in their last ODI match  together for Sri Lanka against South Africa at the SCG in the ICC quarter final first match.

This popular duo would not be seen again on an International cricket field.Both have now wound up their glorious careers spanning nearly two decades as true sevants to Sri Lanka cricket.They also would not also be seen in the shortest format T/20 version.

However Kumar Sangakkara would play in a few more Tests until the end of August this year before he would call it a day from all forms of cricket.Mahela Jayawardena has already announced his retirement from Tests and T/20 cricket.

It should be mentioned that both legends have quit when still at the helm and at the pinnacle of their respective cricketing careers which is a good example for others to emulate. All cricket fans should be greatful to the duo for bringing Sri Lanka to such unprecedented heights in world cricket.
