Anura Yapa issued prohibition orders because he too wanted the meeting to be a success - Udaya Gammanpila

A supporter of the meeting who meant to push Mahinda as a Prime Minister candidate and which rally will be held today the 6th in Kandy has said that Anura Yapa has issued an injunction order
asking those of the SLFP not to attend the meeting with the strategical objective of encouraging those supporters and that Anura Yapa is helping them. In the same way he says that Mahinda will not be able to be present at this rally and if he does come he may face a predicament. Joining in a newspaper interview Udaya Gammanpila has expressed his ideas in this manner.

Under the background of a prohibition order asking SLFP not to participate at the Kandy meeting will it be a success?
Anura Yapa is a number one SLFP man. He is saying like that for lies. It's not with the idea of sabotaging that meeting. We saw how the Nugegoda rally became a success because of the challenge Asad Saly threw. As such, that has been said because Anura Yapa wants to dismiss the lukewarm condition in Kandy also. He knows very well that as soon as a prohibition order is issued, the supporters will come for this, with interest. We offer merit to him for saying so.

Was Mahinda invited for the Kandy rally?
All four of have not collectively invited Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa as such.

Why can't your group make an invitation like that?
We don't have a necessity to invite Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa. There's no necessity to inconvenience him. This meeting is with the motive of pushing leaders of the Alliance to nominate Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister candidate. Before that happens.... Mahinda Rajapaksa should not be brought forward and be put into inconvenience. What we are doing is to create a public influence.

In the future will more rallies of this nature be launched?
We organised this because of a request which originated from Kandy. After that we hope to hold rallies in Ratnapura, Anuradhapura, Moneragala, Kurunegala, Gampaha; and after the Sinhala New Year a massive rally will be held in Matara. I'll make a prediction to you .... the largest rally in the entire history of the country will be there at Matara that day.
