Guptill's double hundred guides New Zealand to beat West Indies to enter semi-final
In the 4th Quarter final match in the ICC world cup 2015 between co host New Zealand and the
West Indies,played as a day night encounter at Wellington, New Zealand on the 21st instant. West Indies were beaten by 143 runs to book a berth in the first semi final and by virtue of this victory they would meet South Africa in Auckland in the first semi final on the 24th Tuesday.
New Zealand won the toss and had no hesitation to bat first and made an imposing total of 393 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.Opener Martin Guptill scored an unbeaten swashbuckling 237 runs while Ross Taylor contributed 43 runs.Jerome Taylor and Onray Russel captured 03 and 02 wickets respectively for the West Indies.In reply West Indies made a 250 runs to be all out in 30.3 overs. Chris Gayle top scored with a quick fire 61 rns while skipper Jason Holder scored 42 runs.Trent Boult captured 04 wickets while Tim Southee and Daniel Vettori captured 02 wickets each.
