Danuna Tilakarathne to CID
The son in law of the former army commander and leader of the Democratic party Sarath Fonseka, Danuna Tillekeratne has been
summoned to the criminal investigation department on the 17th March to record a statement in regard to a case filed by them against Danuna Tillekeratne at the High courts Colombo, accusing him of furnishing some forged documents in regard to importation of arms to army during the tenure of General Sarath Fonseka, during the time the war was in progress via the ‘Australia British defence’ Company.
The hearing of the case was taken up yesterday the 12th at the High courts, Colombo, where Danuna Tillekeratne had been named as the first accused as he was having most charges. The Magistrate had instructed the officers of the CID to summon Danuna Tillekeratne and obtain a statement from him and to produce it to courts. In the meantime the attorney at law appearing for the first accused Danuna Tillekeratne, Asela Rekawa had told the Magistrate to give his client an earlier date for the case as Danuna Tillekeratne has intentions of appealing to the attorney general’s department with true facts of the earlier findings which made this case to be filed against him.
