An announcement saying that Facebook 'like' decreased ....
for Mahinda, Wimal and Gammanpila because of poor understanding
National newspapers announced yesterday that the Facebook pages of Mahinda Rajapaksa, Wimal Weeravansha and Udaya
Gammanpila had faced a Cyber attack and that the 'like' existing at that time had gone down and that this could be assumed as a case of political revenge. It has now been exposed that it was the work of someone who was not tentative about technological know-how and had done so with the motive of acquiring political gain without proper understanding.
From last 12th the number of 'like's in all Facebook pages around the world had gone down to some extent and the cause for it was that the Facebook Institution had removed the 'like's from accounts that had been defunct. They had in fact announced about this reduction clearly and well in advance and it had been announced in the internal page which is tentative on Facebook pages for close upon a month. Udaya Gammanpila and the crowd without any knowledge of this had told newspapers that a cyber attack has been launched and had even landed a fib that he had also contacted the Facebook institution about this. The said change has been carried out in order to control the racket of ticking 'like's for a payment and to uplift the qualitative value of the service rendered by Facebook institution. During the past this change had given rise to discussion even in technological website circles the world over. While it was put into motion last 12th, it affected Sri Lanka as well as Facebook pages the world over. Without any knowledge about this, it has been published in newspapers that Mahinda, Wimal and Udaya was subjected to a cyber attack in the following manner:
A cyber attack has been directed to the Facebook Fan Page of Chief Secretary of Western Province Committee Udaya Gammanpila of Pivithuru Hela Urumaya. Last 13th Friday between 7 and 9 p.m. 1,200 'like's had been found reduced in the existing Fan Page of the Facebook of Mr. Udaya Gammanpila. That announcement further states that when checking other fan pages, it was noticed that preferences or 'like's too had been reduced by 15,800 for Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa and 4,100 in the case of Wimal Weeravansha, this way. Though the preferences given for a fan page fluctuating is in fact a common occurence; but that a decrease in 'like's in such a big number in a short time is an unnatural situation.
Such a thing could take place only by some unfavourable element who is indulging in an action of utilising a computer programme known as Bot in order to bring about a reduction in the preferences or 'like's. Mr. Udaya Gammanpila has complained about this to Facebook institute.
