Return too of Rajagiriya missing Principal .... a mystery!
There was no news for a week about the Principal Chitrapala Nagasingha of Hewavitharna Maha Vidyalaya of Rajagiriya who disappeared when the President was to attend a function in his school a few days back and when circumstances were such, he had all of a sudden come back to his elder brother's
home around 9 last night. However, it is learned that how he happened to come there still remains a mystery.
It was last reported that on the day when the school function was to be held, Principal Nagasingha had been to the house of the Assistant Principal's home on his motor bicycle and had disappeared a short while later. The clothes in which he had been dressed in when he was finally found, were different and his inability to explain how he got those clothes has given rise to suspicion. Among other points of suspicion were the absence of his motor bicycle which he was using at the time of his disappearance and having only the bus tickets from Polonnaruwa to Colombo in his possession in his pocket.
This Principal's elder brother is a Lecturer at the University of Colombo and during the period of his brother's absence he had received a certain phone call which provided a clue about the missing brother and when the police had been involved in investigations about it, he had suddenly returned.
After his return, what he had said was that after being in the house on the day of the school-function he could not remember anything thereafter and that he had only dreamt about his brother's family and had then suddenly woken up while he was deep asleep under a tree close to Parakrama Samudraya in Polonnaruwa.
Though the police who tried to extract information about all what had happened after various forms of interrogation, he had responded saying that he could not remember anything. Further, though there had been no external injuries on his body, he had requested that he be admitted to hospital.
As such, according to his request, he was admitted to Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital. Considering his mental pressure he had been asked to relax and the doctors on examination this morning confirmed that he is free from any ailment as such. What the Director of the hospital says is that the Principal still says that he is not able to recall anything.
During the period of about one week when the Principal was missing, teachers as well as parents had made a protest asking that he be found and various reports began to be published about him in the media. What the police were able to secure as information was that because this principal had voiced his opinion against drug-trafficking in surrounding areas of the school in which he was charge, he was to carry out some plan by meeting the President on this day of the said function in school and that as a result, some trouble had taken place in order to prevent him doing it.
Whatever it is, the issue whether the Principal says that he has no memory of what had happened was because of a fear of threats has given rise to some suspicion.
