Fisheries Minister cuts off Sambari's beard grown for 9 years ... until fisheries port was erected

A person named Sambari Mama cut off his beard with Fisheries Minister's scissor having had a vow made on behalf of building the fisheries port at Peraliya in Hikkaduwa.
It was possible because of his ambition not to cut off his beard until the fisheries port was established and which finally came true. He had made that decision in the year 2005 .... on Presidential Elections Day. Therefore, he had to grow his beard for 9 years.

Yesterday, on the occasion of the ceremony when Fisheries Minister Rajitha Senaratna laid the foundation stone for the fisheries port of Peraliya, his beard was cut off.

Mama who went into jubilation after his beard was taken off, entertained the crowd with a spot of dancing too.
