Jackson Anthony speaks about 'mud-film' rumour

Artiste of the Arts Field, Jackson Anthony joined in a weekend interview and expressed his ideas about a rumour that is spreading around these days.

What he said was that the rumour that he is preparing to launch a 'mud-film' to give publicity to the government is false and that he upto now has played money from the government too is false. He mentioned that his children still travel by bus as average citizens and that it is with difficulty that he runs the family, just covering up the situation.

This is how he has expressed those ideas: "An information which was stated by a certain national newspaper that was based on my new film 'Hatharaweni sil padaya' has been the topic. During the past a certain rumour has gone round that I was not in Colombo .... a baseless big rumour. That rumour is utterly false. A bunkem! There's no factor .... no evidence .... no source. This is a type of smoke that rose without a fire. There's smoke .... no fire! This bogus lie is that the government has given me a contract to make a film which throws mud at the Opposition, centred on the elections and that I have been paid a sum of two and a half crores for that purpose. Even before this, there had been several stories that the government has given me money. If so,by now I would be a millionaire.

Aney .... I am without any money to make a film. I am keeping about 5 scripts ready. I have no money to make those films. I am a man who became rich with difficulty according my efforts .... with the strength I have .... my education .... my abilities. I am a man who looks after my family by just covering up my poverty.

Right throughout the past they told that I played money from that .... I played money from this. If so, that money I played should have come out. If so, my children should go about in vehicles by now. They are boys and girls who go to Colombo and come back by bus. Then it was told that I talk about Politics to creep into the parliament .... or to grab some good government position. I didn't even hold such positions. When such a situation has even been proved .... still they sling mud at me. 

There are two reasons which negates this lie. One is my way of living. My past .... I am a man who comes up in this country in a way that everybody can see. I am not someone who creates Works of Art on somebody's contract.

I live with thoughts of the people such as feelings, taste and public sympathy. I am a person who developed my journey slowly from the year 1970 onwards.

Except that my political explanations are relevant  to my studies on Sociology; this Party Politics, mud-slinging, bending down to others' commands don't belong to me.

I haven't even held a membership of any Party any day. I don't have such a Party. A public-rooted leadership cannot be got from promotions. Specially, even the media talk nonsense during election-time.This is one of those nonsensical stories.
