Cobwebs-like particles floating in Polonnaruwa skies

Unidentified thread floating in Polonnaruwa skies

People in Polonnaruwa and neighbouring areas are suspicious about an unknown type of thread which keeps floating in the skies.

This thread, after floating in the skies for about 2 or 3 kms. then comes down to earth and gets entangled on trees and people in the neighbourhood have touched them.

What the villagers say is that this is a substance which has a cobweb-type appearance; but is of a rougher texture.

It was also reported that these tufts of thread which took on various patterns and floated in the skies disappeared with the onset of rain.
