Two Sri Lankans who were nominated for Bravery Award .... for outpowering McDonalds robber!
Two Sri Lankan youngsters were able to control a robber who barged into a McDonald's outlet in Victoria, Australia 2 years before in the year 2012.
Names of the two Sri Lankan students Chaturanga
and Kasun Fernando were nominated as suitable candidates for the Bravery Award from among 300 nominees in Victoria Province for having come forward bravely, keeping their lives at stake.
The robber had entered the McDonalds outlet wearing a face-mask and carrying a weapon at a moment when the cashier was engaged in counting the collection of money. The two youth waited for an opportune moment and tackled the robber down on to the floor and had managed to bring him under control.
The competition for selecting Kasun and Ishan to be awarded this Award will be held next year.
