Suspect Casim Ahamad admits .... having murdered Thavisha delivering pizza in UK
25 year old Thavisha Lakshan of Rajagiriya was murdered unexpectedly while he was on his rounds delivering pizza as an additional income in Britain October last year and an 18 year old Casim Ahamad who was taken into custody on that occasion on suspicion has admitted in courts that he was the assailant in this case.
Casim Ahamad has confessed that he was fleeing after looting in Sheffield, England and this suspect has by chance spotted Thavish Lakindu Peris who was delivering pizzas and that he was suspicious and frightened that he would leak out this evidence to police. Thus, after seeing him and putting him onto the same vehicle, he had beat a retreat. It was on this basis that he had committed the murder. After that he revealed to courts that he had committed a further two acts of looting on the same day of this murder.
Casim Ahamad who is a resident of Darnol area and Shamraz Kahn , a 25 year old suspect were both taken into custody and the British Police identified them as drug addicts who had been loitering about on streets engaged in minor offences of robbery.
Unfortunately, Thavisha who did no harm had gone to deliver pizzas in the area where they were.
Thavisha who had gone to England to follow a degree course of studies on Information Technology just as much as other students, has had to face this unfortunate tragedy while serving at Domino Pizza Restaurant for the purpose of earning an extra income.
It was a pathetic fact that this accident has happened on the day before he was to take up an appointment at another employment-place and on that fateful day had being delivering his last pizza parcel.
Though it was mentioned in courts that the accused and his accomplice 25 year old Shamraz Kahn who had committed two acts of looting at the location where Thavisha was to deliver the last pizza parcel were present there, it was revealed in Sheffield Royal Courts that the said accomplice is not connected to the murder but only to incidents of looting.
