An election rally hosting UNP candidate for the Southern Province, Mr. Jayasiri Nanayakkara was held recently after dusk, popular actor and parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayaka had grace the occasion as an invitee to provide support.



When he was making a request asking the masses to vote for Nanayakkara,the latter had already fallen asleep. What happened at that moment can be seen from the video below.

"Cast your vote for the Elephant ... and our Nanayakkara (turning towards him) ... ah ... Nanayakkara ae you sleeping (the audience laughs). Mr. Nanayakkara .. wake up ... you are sleeping ... hallo ... Nana ... (laughter); {Nanayakkara awakes} ... ah .. right right ... awoke ..."
