Asanka Priyamantha assaulted at musical show

Singer Asanka Priyamantha assaulted ... when trying to get into his vehicle

Popular singer   Asanka Priyamantha Peris who was walking towards his vehicle after participating at a musical show a few days ago was confronted by 3 persons who had obstructed him and begun to assault him continuously.
He was not even in a position to understand why he was being assaulted in this manner. In fact the singer had felt sad over this behaviour of these 3 people who had been there to witness this musical show and why they had brought him into the midst of an issue that had flared up among them.

Asanka has received injuries in this assault and has had to seek medical treatment and he has also lodged a complaint with the police. The police were able to arrest the suspects without any difficulty.

The 3 individuals who were alleged to have assaulted singer Priyamantha were ordered to be bailed out on a personal bond of Rs. 50,000 each by Gampaha Acting Magistrate, Mrs, Padma Amaratunga yesterday (Feb 25).

The suspects who were bailed out in this instance were Harsha Sanjeewa,M.A.D. Prasanna Kumara and Danushka Chathuranga all of whom are residents of Ganemulla.

Court proceedings in this connection are continuing.
