University student asks for beer .... giving fake currency note

Youth of nowadays have a tendency to experiment in new things. An incident where a university student carried on an activity of printing fake cash notes was reported on an earlier occasion too. A first year undergraduate from University of Sabaragamuwa was arrested very recently having indulged in similar activity. He had created fake notes for the purpose of drinking beer.
He had handed one of those  counterfeit Rs. 5,000 notes to the counter and asked for a can of beer when he was arrested by Balangoda police in the afternoon of February 23rd. The student had gone to a wine store in Balangoda at about 3 in the afternoon and had asked for some liquour when the cashier had on suspicion checked the note on the machine to check whether the note is a counterfeit one. On checking this way it was found that the note was a faked one and had taken steps to hand him over to the police.

On further inquiries about the suspect by Balangoda police crime detection bureau it was revealed that the student was a resident of Kalawana and was a first year undergraduate of Sabaragamuwa campus. Several tools used in the process of printing fake cash notes were found in his home while the genuine cash note from which the fake note was produced was also found in the house.

When questioned as to why a student from a university was motivated towards this type of activity, what he said was that he tried out an experiment for the fun of it and that he was arrested for the first time in his attempt of changing the fake note. However, the police so far do not believe what the student says and further investigations are underway to find out whether he had on earlier occasions too had handed over any such fake notes to others.

"Aney no .... this is the first time. Though I am provided money for my studies from home .... they don't give me money for a beer. It was the money I got for this month that I printed like this .... but what to do ... I got caught," the student has finally told the police.
