Ruwanthi & Ginger to enter politics

Ruwanthi, Mangala and Ginger ..... gives nominations

Accepting of nominations and preliminary interviews of those coming forward for provincial council elections at hand from the government party took place this evening (Jan 21) in the presence of Minister Priyadarshana Yapa. Hirunika, Anarkali and Gayesha are already well-known as contenders for the forthcoming elections as well as a number of new faces were seen present to hand in their nomination papers.Among them was teledrama actress
Ruwanthi Mangala, wife of singer Namal Udugama while singer Ginger too was present.

Among those expected to join the election battle this time from the government party is former parliamentarian Late Ossie Abeygunasekera's son, Asanka Abeygunasekera.

Anarkali who contested from Galle District at the previous provincial council election is to nominate Matara District this time while Gayesha is to contest the Dehiwala seat from Colombo with Ruwanthi and Ginger appearing for the Kolonnawa seat from Colombo.

Further handing over of nomination papers is to follow in the next few days.
