Dayasiri remembers his mother .... and sobs again (video)


Sometime ago an incident was reported where Dayasiri Jayasekera had wept when he was a member of parliament of the United National Party, saying that he would not leave the Party.

Subsequently, Dayasiri who switched over to the ruling Party and is now the Chief Minister of North-West Province had attended a ceremony yesterday (Jan 3) where university graduates of Chilaw, Puttalam were given appointments as teachers. While addressing the public, during his speech, it is learnt that he had remembered his dear mother and had begun to weep.
On this occasion he had brought to memory of the difficulties his mother who herself had been a teacher had faced to look after him and the others,at which moment the audience had gone into silence. He had then brushed aside his tears and resumed his speech.

The video of the occasion is seen below. "We all have a teacher .... it is this teacher who decides to guide our lives towards success or failure. The future of your child is in your hands. Though the period of teaching is short ... though there are enough holidays given ... the profession of teaching has been given the responsibility to mould the brain of a child in a very serious manner during that period.

My mother also is a teacher .... so I have a good understanding about the profession of teaching. When my mother was bringing seven of us in the family(Dayasiri becomes silent ... and sobs ... unable to speak further) I have realised well how she suffered. I think ... all of you who are here ... give that understanding to everyone in the future ....".
