Dayasiri goes to Ranil's office again

Dayasiri mixes up 2s and 3s ...
goes to Opposition again

It was reported a few days ago that Dayasiri Jayasekera who went for the Chief Minister post in North Western province by leaving parliament and switching over to the Government party has once again gone to Opposition leader's office.

It has actually had happened by mistake. It is reported that since he had pressed the wrong button in the elevator he has had to face this unexpected situation. Though he was the Chief Minister, he was present to see the budget proceedings this year once again. It was a short while before the President presented the budget speech.

When the Chief Minister entered the lift, there had been nobody inside. What he had wanted was to go to the gallery chamber on the second floor of parliament. But he had accidentally pressed the third button which then was the third floor. It was reported that since somebody had already pressed the button to enter the lift from the third floor, when the Chief Minister reached the third floor, the door had immediately opened.

It is the Opposition leader's office that directly faces the elevator on the third floor. Just after stepping out of the lift he had found a number of members of parliament including Vasantha Aluvihare and Harsha de Silva discussing matters in relation to the budget. Since they had boycotted the budget, there had been a majority of members present there.

Chief Minister Dayasiri who had then realised that he had arrived on the wrong floor had turned to go back in the lift when parliament m.p. Mr.Vasantha Aluvihare had promptly entered through the open door of the lift and pulled out the Chief Minister. Though the latter had tried to release himself from Mr. Aluvihare's grip, it had been in vain. Thus the latter had been successful in pulling the Chief Minister out.

When Mr. Vasantha Aluvihare had then asked, "Why Chief Minister ... in so much of a hurry ... this is not an unfamiliar place for you ... let's talk about this budget with us for a while ... come ... come  " Mr. Harsha de Silva, m.p.  too joined in saying "Let's go ... let's go let's go and talk about the budget as we customarily did".At this point the Chief Minister found himself in great difficulty. "Don't put me into trouble, please let me go", the Chief Minister had pleaded in the presence of the other members of parliament. The crowd had sneered at this incident and in a few moments the Chief Minister had departed in the elevator.
