Today November 18th is the Hon. President Mahinda Rajapaksha's 68th birthday. The occasion of cutting the cake at Araliya Gaha Mandiraya this morning was a simple one.
The President was dressed in a short-sleeved shirt and a sarong in a homely manner. The First Madam and the 3 sons too were dressed in a homely and simple way.
In the process, as a number of leaders left Sri Lanka after the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting prior to that, the President has had to cut a birthday cake the day prior to the birthday in the presence of the leaders at the final session.
