There are instances where creative imagination is employed these days in theft, these days. Though attempts have been made by many smugglers to take things like gold previously concealed on the sly in the form of tablets, slugs, nuggets and biscuits. This smuggler had tried to smuggle gold to another country in a novel manner. That is by removing the wire attached to his tavelling bag at its corners or edges and by subsequently inserting gold wires into those gaps.
This travelling bag containing gold wires were hidden this way in a most subtle manner so that it cannot be identified by an outsider was to be taken to India through Katunayaka airport and the smuggler in this instance was an Indian national.
He was to set off yesterday on this journey on a flight belonging to a jet airways company to Mumbai in India. However, his bag caught the watchful eyes of customs officials of the airport.
On suspicion of transporting gold, he was taken into custody after which his bag had been inspected. The entire wire when detached from the travelling bag and taken out, were found to contain 6 gold rods of gold weighing 1 kg and 194 grammes in it.
