Siridhamma thero returns to Rathupaswala

       There still is no proper solution to the tragic issue which gripped Rathupaswala in the past. Though Siridhamma thero who entered into an agreement that a time-period of 6 months is needed to shift Dip Products institution to another location saying that he was representing the masses, the latter on the other hand considered it as a betrayal. The villagers complained that after the agreement, Siridhamma thero had  been overcome by greed for money and had been staying in hotels in Colombo and is making preparations for his visa with the idea of going abroad. A separate organisation by the name of Siyane had begun to voice their opinion once again on behalf of the water issue.

      "I'll be making a walk ... on foot ... from Belummahara junction to Rathupaswala playground. If I had done any wrong ... all villagers around Rathupaswala town can come on the 21st morning and can throw at least one stone at my head", said at a media briefing conducted a few days ago at Gampola Singhapitiya Dharmarama Vihara some days ago.

     As told, Siridhamma thero came to Belummahara junction alone. But nobody had come to Belummahara to pelt him with stones or to welcome him. Later, Siridhamma thero had made his journey by foot from Belummahara junction upto Rathupaswala playground and only one person was seen following the thero.

    Though hundreds of people were observed on either side of the road waiting to see the thero, none of them were noticed facing him and making any form of welcome. Some people were seen turning their faces away from the thero while at the same time some hoots of a minor nature too were heard here and there. The thero expressed his ideas to the media saying that he is prepared to cancel the agreement signed. However, villagers and certain organisations now treat the thero as an individual who has shown betrayal on this water-issue.
