Katunayaka highway ready for people

Toll for Peliyagoda - Katunayaka highway ... Rs. 300 From tomorrow (22), people can go walking

    The public would be able to walk along the new Colombo - Katunayaka highway from tomorrow and the highway would be opened on the 27th of this month. The toll fee for the highway is expected to be made known to the public this evening which would be subjected to the approval of the Hon.President.

    As such, it is expected that a toll fee of Rs.300 will be levied on a vehicle from Peliyagoda - Katunayaka. Apart from that, the Minister of Highways has informed that charges from Jaela - Katunayaka and Jaela - Peliyagoda a fee of Rs.200 would be charged. The Minister of Highways has further announced that a period of 3 days beginning from tomorrow (22) will be allowed to the public the opportunity of seeing the highway.

   As such it would be possible to walk along the highway on those dates. Since it would be the only and final opportunity given in the history highways, a large crowd is expected from tomorrow.
