     Minister Mervyn Silva who created an uproar in the recent past because of bringing forward a marriage proposal to Nawaneedan Pillay who arrived in Sri Lanka in the recent past, once again brought out memories of Navaneedan Pillay at a public gathering held at Nikaweratiya a few days back.

     Mervyn has now refuted that proposal spoken of earlier in the following manner: "The Lord Buddha is a person who showed his gratitude before he first began his preachings. And isn't that the reason why he kept on looking without closing even an eyelid? Of course about Navaneedan Pillay one can't keep looking at without closing an eyelid. She is like a calendar published for hell!
