Ragging a married couple at wedding festivals by the bridegroom's friends getting together has been taking place in Sri Lanka for quite sometime. Though these things are done with the sole intention of poking fun, some of the jokes turn out to be something that goes too far, as criticised by some people. But instead of this untoward tradition, an occasion was seen recently where the friends of the bridegroom bade farewell to the couple in a fitting manner after they joined with him singing a surprise 'strange type of song'. The wedding couple were Bhani and Dilanga. How the friends displayed their sorrow on this tender 'Wassa' who was to be trapped with the noose and tied to the cart can be seen from the video below.
