 Male-male wedding occasion

     Police who raided a building in Ratmalana area some days ago were able to nab a racket which had been providing services to homosexuals. Neighbours in the vicinity had observed schoolboys and youth with ear-rings come and go to a two-storied building in front of Dhammarama Vihara in Ratmalana and had suspected that some clandestine activity was taking place there. Therefore, they had informed the police about it. Accordingly the Walana Vice Squad Unit had taken steps to raid the place after investigation into this matter.

  At the moment the police went there, they had found its manager, a girl and 2 boys. They had tried to beat a retreat on seeing the police but having been nabbed it had been revealed by them that that building was a centre which provided services to gay people.

 There was a room which was used to display video tapes that contained obscene sex scenes and the place also comprised a library which contained a large stock of obscene magazines. It was revealed that a large number of schoolboys as well as school-leavers who obtain membership after paying money had made it a habit of visiting this place.

  Apart from this, it was exposed that a service to introduce gay friends as well as male prostitutes too had been going on inside the building. While those who wish to combine as homosexuals on a life-partner basis were given the opportunity of choosing each other. As there was a rest-room afforded for them to meet, they have had the opportunity of freely conducting these activities which are looked down by shameful activities in society.

  In the process, the police were amazed to come across photos of a male-male wedding occasion which is supposed to have taken place on the 16th of this month a few weeks ago. An official certificate about male couples getting married too was found there.

  On further investigations conducted by the police, steps were taken to confiscate 285 condoms, kinds of gel, obscene videos, CD tapes and obscene literature found among the suspects.

  On an inquiry conducted by the police, it was revealed that a large number of schoolboys from Moratuwa, Mount Lavinia and Ratmalana had been addicted to visit this place. After the 4 individuals including the manager and the girl who were taken into custody were produced before Mount Lavinia courts' Addl.Magistrate Mrs.P.P.S.Ranasingha, they were ordered to be remanded till 29th August. Further inquiries are being conducted.
