FUTURE AMBITION TEST IN SCHOOL CLASSROOM

Who likes to get into the Cricket Board when big?

     A wonderful description was exposed about the future ambitions of the present generation of children at a special feature item presented at the Raigam Tele Award Ceremony held sometime back. This item which sent the audience rolling with laughter was presented in Viridu-style by Saman Ranwalage Lama Balakaya.

    On this occasion one student remarked that because he likes to drive on the right-hand side of the road, he likes to become the chauffeur of a Minister. The student who  liked to play cricket exclaimed that since he felt lazy to play cricket in the sun in future said that he preferred entering the Cricket Board and selecting players.

Teacher: Very good. All the children are present today. We'll start the class early. Ayubowan .... good morning children.

               Ayubowan ... good morning teacher.

Teacher: Before we start the lesson today ... everyone listen now. Tell me what you'd like to be when you grow up. Lift your hand and tell me.

Student 1: I'll start an NGO which protests against Human Rights ... I like to be the Head there.

Female student 1: My tummy is smarting .... seeing singing and dancing stars. I'll become a star at least in Season No: 2.

Student 2: Like to drive on the right-hand side of the road. I like to be a chauffeur of a Minister.

Teacher: It's not good to think about yourself only. Isn't there anybody here who likes to do some service to the nation?

Student 3: I like to do a service to my country where I was born ... silently.  like to become a President Advisor.

Female student 2: I'll become a media person. I'll do a service to the country when I am big ... giving the song that is asked for and the song which is most liked.

Student 4: I'll do a mega drama .... of 2 or 3 thousand. I'll act here and there. I also in one or two .... aney, we also in one of two.

Teacher: What a person does is important to yourself as well as to the country. Tell what you'll like by lifting your hand.

Student 5: I like to come forward in sports .... like very much to go for cricket when am big.

Teacher: Sports is also good puthe ..... to go forward ... bring glory to the land you were born in.

Student 6: I of course can't play cricket in the sun. I want to jump into the Cricket Board; then to serve there .... to select the players .... to win the World Cup.
