FACEBOOK LOVER'S VULGAR PHONE CALL

Vulgar call to district judge's home .... asking for Facebook girl

Young boys of the present day show a clandestine desire to make friends with attractive girls whom they come across when browsing the social network of Facebook.

On and off one hears of those who started illicit and secret affairs with them. A few days ago, a call was received by the District Judge of Kurunegala on his domestic line by a Facebook lover. The caller had mentioned the name of a female and asked for her. The judge had replied saying that there was no such person by that name and kept the receiver down.

But after a short while, the youth had called again. He had on that occasion spoken somewhat harshly and said, "Here .... don't tell lies .... give the phone to her". The judge then explained to him that it must be a wrong number. But the youth did not want to accept that explanation. As the judge realised that it was useless talking to him further, he once more kept the receiver down. In this way the youth had called on five instances. But on the last occasion he had spoken in the most vulgar manner using utter obscene words. He had not realised that his call was answered by a respectable person in society. What he thought was that somebody was preventing the lover answering the call.

Everything failed with the youth who treated the judge in a type of language that day which he had never heard in his life. The case of finding this individual who abused and threatened the judge in obscene language was handed over to the police. After checking from where the call originated, the police were able to locate the caller.

The phone call had been initiated by an army soldier affiliated to the Puttalam army camp. The police took steps to arrest him on grounds of suspicion. On being questioned, the police found out that on five occasions he had telephoned the home of the District Judge and that he had inquired mentioning the name of a female, asking for her. He admitted that when he was told that there is no such person, he had offended the recipient by using obscene language. He explained that he was able to secure the phone number from the Facebook social website and had also told that she had requested him to call her after chatting with him on and off. He on responding as told was told that the phone number was wrong every time he called and that he lost his temper. He finally said that he was unaware he had called a district judge's home and that someone had cheated him via the Facebook.

Inquiries are being conducted over theincident.
