MOTHER HELPS HER SON TO ABUSE 15 YR OLD GIRLFRIEND

Mother prepared bed for son
to abuse his lover

 An incident where a mother who had been arrested by the police for having prepared a bed in the house for her son and provided support for him to behave as husband with his underage lover is reported from Gamola. The girl aged 15 years and 7 months is a resident of Rajathalana area in Gampola. Her mother and father lives  separately. The girl lives with her grandmother.

     On the day of the incident the girl after discussing with her supposed lover over the phone had arranged to come to his house in Pallewlathenna in the evening. On the girl's arrival the boy's mother had warmly welcomed the girl happily and had requested her to spend the night there and leave the following day. Though this proposal was somewhat strange, she had given her consent to this.

    Accordingly the mother had arranged a separate room for them to sleep. That night as the girl did not return home, the grandmother had searched for her for a long time the following day, Finding that the girl was not in the house, had complained to the Gampola police.

   The police on making inquiries were able to gather that she was in the house of the boy, supposed to be her lover. On a statement recorded from her by the police, she had said that she was sleeping together with the boy on the same bed that night, but nothing untowards happened from him.

   However, since the grandmother strongly insisted and believed that the girl had been abused, expressed this to the police. It was after this that the police took the boy into custody.

   The boy was produced in Gampola Magistrate's Courts on the first hearing and was released on a personal bond of Rs.50,000 while the medical report of the girl was received on May 06th confirming that the girl was sexually abused. As such, on a subsequent statement recorded by the police, the girl had admitted that she actually was seduced by her lover that night but that she did not want to divulge it in the first instance for fear.

   In this way, the boy's mother was remanded for having abetted to commit an offence against a minor. The case will be called at a later date.
