RAPE VICTIM RESCUED FROM WELL

A boy friend had raped his girl friend along with his school boy friends, had pushed the girl into a well within a lonely cemetery

A group of friends had gone along with a girl friend of one person to see a musical show. While they were returning home late night the boy friend along with two other friends had taken the girl to a lonely cemetery, had raped her and pushed her into a deep well. This matured boy along with his two school going friends had been arrested by the Mirigama Police.
This incident had occurred on Sunday night, the boy friend had come to the girl friend’s house with another boy . Later they had been joined by another two friends. The girl is 25 years old and is supposed to associated with a number of boys as friends. She had told her home people that she was going with them to watch a musical show close by.
They have left on two motor bikes. The girl and her boy friend had ridden on one bike while the other two boys had travelled on another bike. After the musical show was completed the girl with her boy friend while coming had stopped his motor bike close to a lonely cemetery in Thvalampitiya. To her surprise the boy friend had removed her clothes forcibly and tried to rape her in a jungle like area.. The two other school going friends also had come and by taking turns had also raped this girl.
She had screamed calling for help, but no one had come to her assistance. They had later pushed the girl into well thinking she might sink and die had fled away. The well which was about 12 feet deep  Luckily the well had not contained water to only about 2 ½ feet.
Luckily her mobile phone had been with her had been working. She had taken a call to her brother from her mobile. Shehad told she was in a well which contained dirty water had told her brother that she had fallen into a well. However her mobile had stopped functioning.
The brother had not been able to locate the well she was in. He had made an entry to the Police station and through one boy when tried to find information he had denied that he was unaware of such an incident had told that he had returned home after the musical show. He had escaped by saying some lies.
His mobile was checked for the ‘sms’ messages. There were some messages pertaining to ‘ganja’. However when he was frightened he confessed the complete story about raping the girl and pushing her into a well in the lonely cemetery area. When the correct place was made known the girl had been inside the well sans clothes crying loudly. She had been in the well till the following afternoon.
This unfortunate girl was taken out of the well and was produced for a medical examination. Later the boy friend was also caught while working in a mill at Loluwagoa.  All three had been arrested by the Police and are to be produced before courts shortly.
