A Sri Lankan Tamil asylum seeker who had tried to rape an Australian University girl in Sydney while at sleep caught and arrested,
Last week Sri Lankan lad had entered the female hostel in the MACQUARIE University in Sydney and had tried to rape a Australian girl 20 years old who was sleeping in her quarters.He was caught and arrested by the Police.
On the 21st night this person had come to her room wearing only a pair of shorts and had tried to rape her. When she fought with this guy and made screams her colleagues had come to the scene. By the time the person who came had tried to escape.
After informing the Police, after a few hours he was able to be arrested. The culprit was lean, dark in complexion was revealed to be 21 years old Sri Lankan and a Tamil person named Dackson Selvaraja. On investigating it was revealed that he had sought a asylum status, had said that he has been studying in the same university But he had not been a registered student.
It was revealed that through the Red Cross Society along with 50 other asylum seekers he had been living ia hostel in the same Macquarie university. it was also revealed that he had worked in a shop as well.was revealed through Police investigations.
When his case was heard yesterday he pleaded not guilty and he was refused bail. This incident was telecast in a special programme in Australia’s’ ‘Seven’News’ .After this news item authorities are focussing more attention on those Sri Lanka’s asylum seekers who are living over there,
